Oleiros is a municipality in the northwest of Spain located 8 km from the city of La Coruña, in Galicia. Together with the municipality of Sada, it forms the tongue of land that separates the Betanzos estuary from the bay of La Coruña.
The City Council of Oleiros has several beaches, including the Santa Cristina beach, Bastiagueiro, Mera, Espiñeiro …, which have the Blue Flag distinction.
Oleiros has acquired a notable fame at the regional level for its careful conservation of the natural environment as well as for the creation of numerous public parks. It also has several institutes and schools, both public and private, as well as several museums, three auditoriums, and public libraries and gyms.
It is a residential municipality, with numerous urbanizations and single-family homes. In which in the last 20 years it has gone from being a rural municipality to a residential municipality, where many of the families with the greatest socioeconomic power in the province live.
