Culleredo is a Spanish municipality, belonging to the province of La Coruña, in the autonomous community of Galicia.
It is a municipality strongly influenced by its proximity to La Coruña, which causes the parishes bordering the city to be heavily urbanized and for the most part inhabited by young people who carry out their professional activities in the city or in the industrial estates on the outskirts. .
In contrast, the other parishes are semi-rural and the population is made up of older people and in many more cases is dedicated to the primary sector.
The Burgo estuary, or La Coruña, is located in the Rías Altas, within the so-called Ártabro Gulf.
It is formed by the mouth of the Mero river and its waters bathe the municipalities of Cambre, La Coruña, Culleredo and Oleiros.
